EMBROIDERY 101:
PROCESS & CONSIDERATIONS

So you'd like to get something embroidered? Here are a few things you should know:

1) Embroidery is best for smaller logos (i.e. hats/toques, left chest crests, names, etc.) with up to 12 colours - the cost of application is entirely based upon the number of stitches in your logo.

2) Custom logos - unless you choose a design from prefab stock, you will need to have your custom logo "digitized", which refers to the process of taking your art (as a JPEG, vector art file, etc.) and making it in to a file format that tells the embroidery machine how to stitch your design. This process is important because "digitizing" is an art in itself due to the underlay stitches and stitch patterns that are logo-specific and have a significant impact on how well your logo will sew-out on to your shirt, fleece, etc. Expect to pay between $8-$10 per 1000 stitches for digitization.

3) Larger areas can be covered using poly-twill letters, etc. that are stitched on to hoodies (very popular varsity style). This options is both more economical than stitching large letters, and looks slick.

4) Turnaround time for embroidery is approximately 2-3 weeks depending on quantity.
